Reserve your table online and enjoy a fantastic dining experience at The Bear and Blacksmith. Whether it’s a casual meal or a special occasion, our easy booking system ensures your spot is ready when you arrive.
If you wish to make a reservation for 7+ guests in the evening, or a table of 9+ guests any time of day, please call us on 01548 721696 and we can book that in for you.
For groups of 7 adults or more, a set menu will be provided to help streamline service. We also require a deposit of £10 per person for larger group bookings. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before your booking will result in the loss of the deposit. Due to the size of our pub and limited number of tables, large cancellations at short notice can be very financially damaging to our small independent business, so we really appreciate your understanding and support.
We are a very small, independent pub with a tiny dedicated team, and only 9 dining tables. Getting things right for your visit means the world to us.
Furry friends
We adore dogs here! Due to the high number of dog owners in the area, we sometimes have to allow well behaved dogs in our dining area as we only have 3 dining tables in the bar area. If you would prefer a table away from dogs, please just let us know that in your booking notes we will seat you as far away from any as possible.
Families
If you are bringing children, please help us out by counting them in your final number, even if they aren't eating, we still need to have the right size table to fit the amount of chairs required around it, ensuring everyone has enough space. If you need space for a pram or high chairs, a quick mention of that in the booking notes makes all the difference!
Dietary requirements & Allergies
Your safety is our priority. Please let us know of any dietary requirements or severe allergies when you book, as well as when you order. To look after you properly, we kindly ask for your honesty.
Allergy vs Intolerance vs Dislike; These are not the same, and knowing the severity helps us take the correct precautions in our little kitchen.
Please don't assume ingredients; Even if you've had a similar dish elsewhere, our recipes are unique. We need to be fully informed to prevent cross-contamination or errors.
The more information you can give us in advance, the better we can prepare and guarantee a wonderful visit for you.

Our Terms & Conditions
Arrival Times
We kindly ask that you arrive promptly at your booked time. If you are late, you will still have your table until the end time stated in your booking confirmation, except for bookings in our last sittings. If you arrive at a different time than reserved we will take your order as soon as we are ready, ensuring that other guests' service isn't affected. If you would like to have drinks before your meal, please arrive early so that we can still seat you at your booked time.
Group Bookings
For groups of 7 adults or more, a set menu will be provided to help streamline service. We require a deposit of £10 per person for all bookings of 7 adults or more. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before your booking will result in the loss of the deposit. Due to the size of our pub, large table cancellations at short notice can be very financially damaging to our small business, so we thank you in advance for your understanding as to why this policy is in place. For groups of 13 or more, we also require a pre-order to ensure everything is ready for your enjoyment.

Please inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements when you book. Please don't make assumptions about our ingredients. Our team will be happy to talk you through any queries.
